Opportunity, Business, and Lifestyle: Interview with the Gebhardt Family
Welcome to a new edition of our blog series dedicated to opportunities, business, and lifestyle on the magnificent Lake Garda. Our goal remains to offer concrete support to hoteliers, restaurateurs, and all those working in the hospitality sector in our beautiful region.
In this interview, we are pleased to introduce the Gebhardt family, who live in Austria and have recently found their corner of paradise in Costermano sul Garda. We will discover together how this location and its services have exceeded their expectations, and what suggestions they have to make this area even more special and attractive.

Good morning, could you briefly tell us who you are and what you do?
My family and I live in the city of Kitzbühel. I am an entrepreneur, and together with my wife and our children, we have always sought a place where we could spend our summer holidays in peace and with a pleasant climate.
Where did you purchase your home and why did you choose this area?
We purchased a newly built villa with a lake view in Costermano sul Garda at the end of 2023. Initially, we were interested in a property closer to the lake, in Torri del Benaco, but after some consideration, we decided that Costermano was the best choice for us. Lake Garda won us over with its Mediterranean climate, Italian atmosphere, and easy access both by car and train.
What particularly attracted you to Lake Garda compared to other locations?
We considered several regions, including the lakes of Salzburg and Carinthia, as well as the island of Mallorca. However, Lake Garda impressed us with its atmosphere, culinary and cultural opportunities, the tranquility of the Costermano area, and the beauty of the landscape. The possibility of hiking and cycling and the proximity to cities like Verona, Venice, Milan, and Florence for day trips were decisive factors in our choice.
What services were essential for you in choosing your home?
During the purchase and construction of our villa, the support received for furnishing and bureaucratic procedures was indispensable. Additionally, maintenance services for the house and garden are very useful for a property used as a vacation home. For our recreational activities, we appreciated the useful advice for cycling and hiking.
What services do you think could be introduced to improve the experience of residents and visitors?
It would certainly be interesting to have a transfer service from Verona train station to Lake Garda, making it easier for visitors to arrive by train.
Our Thoughts After the Interview
The interview with the Gebhardt family offered valuable insights and practical suggestions for those looking to develop or improve their business on Lake Garda. Here are some interesting proposals:
Transfer Services: Implement a transfer service from Verona train station to Lake Garda to facilitate the arrival and movement of tourists.
City Tours: Create services dedicated to exploring the cities near Lake Garda for foreign tourists.
Discovery Routes: Organize walks or bike rides to showcase the beauty of the area.
